<p>Join us for a free public tour of “<a href="https://new.artsmia.org/exhibition/giants">Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys</a>” and gain deeper insight into the pieces in the collection.</p>
<p>Meet at the desk in front of the exhibition&#8217;s entrance. Tours last one hour.</p>
<p>Note: The tour is free, but you need a <a href="https://tickets.artsmia.org/events/01934052-e7dc-337b-b9f3-e4216feb4d0e">ticket</a> to enter the exhibition.</p>

<p>Join us for a delightful botanical watercolor class designed for beginners! This five-week workshop, led by teaching artist Michael Gaughan, aligns with Mia&#8217;s spring event, <a href="https://new.artsmia.org/art-in-bloom/art-in-bloom-2025">Art in Bloom</a>.</p>
<p>You’ll tour Mia&#8217;s galleries and draw inspiration from the museum&#8217;s permanent collection while getting an exclusive look at the stunning floral arrangements. You’ll learn traditional and nontraditional approaches to watercolor through hands-on practice of fundamental techniques.</p>
<p>Over the course of the workshop, we’ll cover color theory, various painting techniques, blending, layering, texture, and more. Come explore the art of botanical watercolor painting, discuss and critique artwork, and make new friends. This workshop promises to be a lot of fun!</p>

<p>Join Christopheraaron Deanes, an innovative educator, artist, and restorative practitioner, for a five-week workshop where you’ll create a nontraditional self-portrait.</p>
<p>You’ll have the opportunity to view the upcoming exhibition &#8220;<a href="https://new.artsmia.org/exhibition/giants">Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys</a>.&#8221; Discover an image from the exhibition that resonates with you, and find creative ways to connect with both the image and the artist as you re-create this work as a portrait of yourself. Dive into your vision and gain a deeper understanding of art and the art-making process.</p>
<p>Throughout the workshop, you’ll enhance your experience with creative social engagement by exploring traditional art methods focused on self-direction, self-advocacy, and reflection. You’ll also learn about color theory, composition, perspective, gestural drawing, values, and critique.</p>
<p>&#8220;Giants&#8221; examines the lives of the Black and Brown diaspora in America. This workshop engages with this theme through personal connections and narratives that explore our shared humanity and similarities.</p>
